Facts and Information
Often called a Blue-girdled Angelfish, fans of this marine beauty know this fish is nothing if not Majestic. Highly prized in the marine aquarium hobby, but unfortunately, this fish is rather scarce, even in the wild. Also known as a Navarchus angel, it frequents areas rich in coral growth. Mature specimens may not take to aquarium life right away as they can be reserved in disposition and may initially refuse food when newly introduced. Majestic angels are often shy and secretive and require caves or holes to hide away in. These angelfish can be quite peaceful to tankmates, but might become territorial towards conspecifics or other angelfish. The right marine hobbyist and environment go a long way in keeping these beautiful fish successfully.
