Buy a Betta this May, We'll Donate $1.00!
Mia, the daughter of one of our aquatic partners, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last year after 5 years of testing. Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder that makes simple things like walking, dressing, and bathing impossible at times. Mia applied to receive a mobility service dog in order to preserve her independence, and she was approved into the program at SIT Service Dogs in Ava, Illinois. The total cost of the dog is around $12,000, and she still needs to raise $9,000 before she can receive her dog.
So, for the entire month of May Uncle Bill’s Pet Center will donate $1 for every betta fish purchased.
Bettas have brilliant colors and are unique due to their magnificent, flowing fins. The average size of the Betta is about 2.5"-3" in length and the average lifespan is around 2-4 years if taken care of properly. If you want a single fish that requires smaller space than most fish as well as a little less maintenance, but has a colorful personality, the Betta might be the perfect pet for you!
If you would like help without becoming a Betta pet parent you can donate directly to Mia’s Go Fund Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/service-pupper-fund
UPDATE : Thanks to so many beautiful souls, Mia was able to raise enough for a deposit on the service dog, but there is still a long road ahead and help is still needed! Every few months she'll be required to make payments towards the total cost, and many people have already expressed interest in sharing the campaign and donating further. Mia mentioned, "I couldn't be more moved by all this kindness... Thank you so much!!!"
