     Yes, there really is a Dr. Tim!  Dr. Timothy Hovanec was previously the Chief Science Officer of Aquaria Inc. for 17 years and holds over a dozen patents supporting his products.  Though Dr. Tim now has a Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution and Marine Biology,  it all started with 2 goldfish he won at the school fair at age 6 that did not survive their first night in his care - and he has been dedicated to improving fish keeping and care since!  His research has even led to the discovery of several new species of nitrifying bacteria.

    Quality media, for each of type of filtration (mechanical, chemical and biological) is important for setting-up and maintaining your aquarium. Dr.Tim's provides a wide range of aquarium media to meet every situation:

    Equalizer™ Equalizer™ is great to use in systems where activated carbon is not recommended. Being less forceful than carbon it is great for plant and reef tanks and in soft water aquaria. Equalizer™ will remove fine particulate particles, organics and help control ammonia, nitrates and phosphates.

    Zeo-PURE™ Zeo-PURE™ is a 100% natural, high-capacity ammonia binding media that can also remove heavy metals. It is highly porous with a large surface area for bacterial action.

    Purifier™ Purifier™ is a 100% super premium synthetic filter resin that removes dissolved and particulate organics using ion-exchange.

    Purifer-PLUS™ Purifier PLUS ™ is our premium ion exchange resin mixed with our super effective Carbon-PURE for a media that cleans and purifies aquarium water like no other.
